China severely curbed population growth China's twin pillars of success, are a very strong fous on economic growth and on bringing down population growth. With less people the rest can be better looked after and educated. SA grew from 10m people in 1970 - to 50m people now. No country can provide jobs that quickly. As long as you provide more people than jobs, the people will get poorer.
